Add Attachment to a Message

This walk through will show you how to send an email with an attachment in MAC Mail 6.0 included with MAC OSX 10.8
Click the Mac Mail icon in the dock to open Mac Mail
The inbox is displayed
Click New Message
The new email message window is displayed
Populate the To address with the recipients email address
Populate the subject of the email in the Subject field
Write your email in the main body
Click the attachment button
The attachment window is displayed
Navigate to the file you wish to attach to the email
Highlight the file and click Choose File
You are returned to the email you are composing
The attached photo in this sample was embedded in the email body
Non picture or video attachments will be listed in the attachments section
Click the send button (paper plane icon)
You are returned to the inbox
Your email should now be sent with the attachment
