Add New E-mail Account with Windows Mail
The following walk through will cover how to create a new E-mail Account in Windows Mail.
Click Start, then click Windows Mail

The Windows Mail home page is displayed.
Click Tools, then click Accounts
Click Tools, then click Accounts
The Select Account Type window opens.
Select E-mail Account, then click Next

The Your Name window opens.
Enter the name the customer would like to have displayed on their e-mails and click Next

The E-mail address window opens.
Enter the E-mail address and click Next

The Setup E-mail Servers window opens.
Select POP3 for the incoming mail server.
Enter the Incoming mail (POP3...) server name: pop.verizon.net
Enter the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server name: smtp.verizon.net
Make sure that Outgoing server requires authentication is checked.
Click Next to continue.Note: For Yahoo/Verizon mail outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
Select POP3 for the incoming mail server.
Enter the Incoming mail (POP3...) server name: pop.verizon.net
Enter the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server name: smtp.verizon.net
Make sure that Outgoing server requires authentication is checked.
Click Next to continue.Note: For Yahoo/Verizon mail outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
The Internet Mail Logon window opens.
Enter the self selected username or the VZID associated with the e-mail account.
Enter the password and select Remember password
Click Next

Congratulations! you have successfully set up your e-mail account.
Make sure that the Do not download my e-mail at this time is not checked.
Click Finish.

From the Windows Mail home page, Click Tools, then click Accounts.. on the top menu
The Internet Accounts window opens.
You can select an account and change its settings.
Click to highlight the E-mail Account, then click Properties

The Mail Properties popup window is displayed.
Click the Advanced tab on the top menu

Enter the Incoming mail (POP3...) server name: incoming.yahoo.verizon.net
Enter the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server name:
Click the Advanced Tab.
On the advanced tab, ensure the following is populated
- Verizon Server Port Numbers:
- Incoming server (POP3): 995
- Place a check in This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
- Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
- This should be port 465 for Verizon E-Mail addresses.
- This should be port 587 for any third party mail provider
- Use the following type of encrypted connection "SSL"
- Server Timeouts
- Set to preference - 1 minute or more is best
- Sending - Do not change this setting
- Delivery
- This is customer preference.
- Yahoo Server Port Numbers:
- Incoming server (POP3): 110
- DO NOT Place a check in This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
- Outgoing server (SMTP): 587
- This should be port 587 for Verizon Yahoo mail or any other third party mail provider
- DO NOT Place a check in This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
- Server Timeouts
- Set to preference - 1 minute or more is best
- Sending - Do not change this setting
- Delivery
- This is customer preference. You can leave it blank or configure as shown in the image.
When all information has been populated, click OK
