This walk through will show you how to use the Address Book

This walk through will show you how to use the Address Book



Click the Address Book in the dock



The Address Book is displayed.
Here you will see a list of contacts displayed in alphabetical order
To add a new contact, click the plus ( + ) sign



You can enter all of the information you see in the image:
  • First Middle Last Name
  • Company Title
  • Work / Mobile phone
  • Work / Home E-Mail addresses
  • And more
When you have completed entering all appropriate information, click Done



Your new contact is now displayed in the list




To edit an existing contact, highlight the name in the list and click Edit




You can edit any of the available fields such as:
  • First Middle Last Name
  • Company Title
  • Work / Mobile phone
  • Work / Home E-Mail addresses
  • And more
When you have finished editing the fields, click Done



Now open MAC Mail 5.x from the dock
Right click on any open space in the top navigation menu of MAC Mail 5.x
A context menu is displayed.
Select Customize Toolbar




The customize toolbar window is displayed.
You can drag and drop icons from this window to your top navigation menu.
Drag and drop both the Add to Address Book and Address icons to the top navigation menu





Once you have them both displayed in your top navigation menu, click Done




Click the Address icon
This will show a quick list of your contacts directly within MAC Mail 5.x
You can highlight a name and click the To: button to create a new E-Mail to this person



You may now generate the new E-Mail and click send.
If you do not wish to send an E-Mail, close the new E-Mail window





You can add addresses to your Address book directly from an open E-Mail
Click the down arrow next to the senders E-Mail address in the open E-Mail.
Select Add to Address Book



The Address Book is displayed.
You can edit all of the new contacts information.
When you have finished populating fields, click Done



The new contact now shows in alphabetical order in your contacts list in the Address Book
