Enabling / Disabling the built in Firewall Windows 8
The following walk through will show you how to turn ON / OFF the firewall in Windows 8.
From the Start Menu perform the following steps :
- Right Click on an open area of the Start Menu
- A slider bar will pop up along the bottom of the screen
- Click All Apps on the slider bar
- Now click Control Panel under Windows System in the list of applications
The Control Panel is displayed
From this point forward, the steps for Windows 8 are identical to Windows 7
Switch the view from Category to Large Icons
Click the Firewall icon
The Windows Firewall window opens.
Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off on the left menu
Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off on the left menu
The Windows Firewall window opens.
By default, Turn on Windows Firewall has been selected.
Click OK
By default, Turn on Windows Firewall has been selected.
Click OK
To disable the windows firewall, select Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended).
Click OK
Click OK
